YES! I/We want to help the Foundation for Life this summer. Please accept my (our) gift.
Dear Pro-life Friend,
It’s hard to believe but summer will be here before we know it. The next three months are a bit like a doubled edged sword; with the one blade we impact more individual lives than in any other three-month period, yet, with the other blade, we receive fewer gifts, perhaps due to vacations and the busy summer months.
Foundation for Life is entirely dependent on voluntary gifts to keep our vital programs running. Just consider a few of the ways this pro-life ministry is impacting countless lives throughout NW Ohio and SE Michigan:
• Our annual Roe vs. Wade memorial ad campaign impacts residents in the greater Toledo area by expanding awareness that thousands are committed to the abolition of abortion.
• Promotion and participation in several March for Life events locally and nationally.
• Our annual Legislative Briefing Breakfast continues to increase both in size and influence.
• Four annual Pro-life contests – Creative Writing, Video, Billboard/Bumper Sticker and Oratory – encourage high school and college students to express their Pro-life views.
• Our “Truth Booth” – the free-standing kiosk we affectionately refer to as “A Window to the Womb” (view video at www.fflnwo.org/truth-booth) will be displayed at the Defiance, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Putnam and Wood county fairs. Also our dual-sided Truth Booth is at the Mall in Bowling Green from May through September.
• Our SEAL Team program that begins with Boot Camp in September and runs through May.
• The First Sunday in October is the annual Life Chain. This is the nation’s second-longest running public pro-life witness, the annual March for Life being the oldest. This event focuses on getting the “Church” out of the pews and into the streets to pray and peacefully demonstrate to end abortion.
• Our annual Benefit for Life is more than just our annual fundraiser. It is truly an educational outreach and an excellent way to introduce others to this work of building a culture of life.
Your gifts have made a profound impact in the lives of young women and men through our Students Equipped to Advocate Life – SEAL Team program. This dynamic program focuses on training and equipping high school and college students with a positive, compassionate pro-life message. We are developing a new generation of pro-life leaders, who are actually leading today. The 2015/16 academic year has seen enormous breakthroughs! We are now seeing the fruit of years of sowing in this youth leadership development program. Here is just one success story.
Megan Oberle first became active in pro-life beliefs through the Notre Dame Academy SEAL Team program. As a junior she won the first-ever pro-life video contest. As a freshman at UT she reached out to FFL to get plugged in with a pro-life group on campus and immediately stepped into a leadership role. Megan is now the team leader of “Toledo for Life”, the pro-life group on campus.
In 2013 Foundation for Life helped establish this UT pro-life group under the leadership of Andrew Jambor, one of our college summer interns.
Another of our life transforming programs is our Silent No More awareness campaign which helps women recover from the burden of forbidden grief through its various Christ-centered programs and resources. What does the fruit of this outreach really look like?
It’s the 20-year-old woman, six-months post abortion, who reaches out to ask: when will the nightmares and panic attacks stop? She now has a listening ear, a prayer partner, and a place to go for healing.
It’s the 72-year-old woman who still hears her lost babies crying in the night, who now can talk to someone who understands and doesn’t condemn her.
Now I want to ask you to do something unusual: make a special three-month pledge of support. During the months of June, July and August we are everywhere – county fairs, festivals, pro-life workshops, and the Bowling Green Mall, with our pro-life message. We are also preparing for our annual SEAL Team Boot Camp and Life Chain events.
Your gifts over the next three months will empower us to educate more minds, touch more lives and, by God’s grace, change more hearts with His Truth. Will YOU help?
Being pro-life is not only a public policy, it needs to be our personal policy. Please team up with Foundation for Life to save lives through your intentional action.
