ABORTION DEATHS OUTPACE COVID DEATHS ACROSS THE STATE
Last Friday, the Ohio Department of Health released its annual abortion report for 2020. During a year, when residents could not even get their haircut, abortions facilities were allowed to stay open. These facilities slaughtered more children than they did in 2019---by 3 %-- that equals 503 additional babies lost. Again, when restaurants, schools, businesses, and even OTHER ambulatory surgical facilities were ordered to be closed by the state leadership.
An additional disturbing aspect of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Report is the continued increase in chemical abortions--9,865 out of 20,605 accounting for 47.9 percent.
Sadly 20,605 deaths from abortion remain higher than 13,766 deaths from COVID in 2020. What is the true health crisis?
“It is a terrible blight on the state of Ohio where the abortion clinics were considered ‘essential’ and allowed to remain open even as the rest of the state was shut down in 2020, "said Linda Theis, President of Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio. “During a time of duress and worry, when fear and depression ran high, the abortion mills were profiting from the vulnerability of women and their unborn babies.”
The news is worse for our African American communities. African American baby deaths increased by 6%--that is 535 more black babies than in 2019 statewide.
ALMOST 41.9% of all abortions in Lucas county were black children--during a mandated state-wide health crisis shutdown.
The number of African American infants killed by abortion has steadily increased in recent years, with 2020 being the first year in which they outnumbered white infants. The incredibly high rate of 48% among our African American neighbors is especially disturbing. Pastor Walter Moss, RTLACO board member said, “The black genocide that continues is horrendous! RTLACO will continue to work toward the protection of all human life, and will not stop until the unborn are recognized as persons due respect and dignity as members of our human family.”
There were a total of 988 abortions performed in Lucas county in 2020 of which only 676 were residents. Therefore, 312 women came to Lucas county for their abortion during a time of travel restrictions in order to "stop the spread."
Based on the above self-reported statistics, the abortion facilities behavior in 2020 shows they are more interested in their "bottom line" than in women's health care. ABORTION ON DEMAND AT ALL COSTS.
Great Toledo Right to Life contacted Governor DeWine's office on several occasions during the health crisis to inform him and his staff of our local facility disregard for his mandates. As you can see from the statistics, the Governor was more concerned about you and I "stopping the spread" than the abortion providers across the State.
“2020 was terrible year for Ohio citizens. It is no surprise that when fear and hopelessness are thrust upon a society, its citizens respond with suicides, abortions, drug overdoses, etc. What is shocking is that the leaders do not respond with positive alternatives to the fear and despondency. Instead, they allow other entities to prey on their vulnerable citizens and exacerbate an already desperate situation.” says Margie Christie, Executive Director, Dayton Right to Life.
Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio opposes all abortion at any point of gestation, as it destroys a living, growing, human person. RTLACO will continue to pursue significant and impactful legislation not just to regulate abortion but end abortion in Ohio.
