
Yesterday the Ohio Department of Health (ODOH) released the 2023 abortion statistics report that showed a significant increase in the number of abortions that occurred across much of Ohio. Lucas was the only county of occurrence (where abortions are routinely performed) that decreased from 2022. In fact, the decrease was monumental! The Lucas County numbers fell dramatically by 26% in 2023 -- 787 abortions reported, compared to 1,063 in 2022. "The last time we saw numbers this low was in 2014," said Ed Sitter, Executive Director of the Foundation for Life. "We are blessed with sidewalk advocates, headed up by Bob Schoen and Joan Stowell; they and their team are incredibly faithful." Sitter went on to say, "But let's be honest; I know Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland and Columbus have prayerful, faithful advocates as well. We may never fully understand the 'why,' but let prolifers across Northwest Ohio celebrate the win for life and rejoice with the angels in Heaven."
