Ohio Abortion Report for 2024

ree

Last Wednesday, the Ohio Department of Health released Ohio’s 2024 genocide report. The only good news in all of this is that 171 fewer babies were reported aborted in 2024 compared to 2023 statewide.

Despite the incredible work done by the prolife sidewalk advocate team headed by Joan Stowell and Bob Schoen, the number of abortions reported at Toledo Abortion Center increased in 2024 by 166, over 2023.

There are several disturbing trends we are seeing; one of the most alarming is the intense increase in the number of out-of-state residents coming to Ohio to have their abortions. From 2022 to 2024, there was a 245% increase, from 1,287 in 2022 to 3,133 in 2024.

As neighboring states like Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee have strengthened the rights of the preborn, Ohio is quickly becoming a destination state for abortion seekers. (Not exactly something we want to promote in a tourism brochure.)

The other deeply concerning trend is the phenomenal increase in medical or pill abortions. It is estimated that around 63% of all abortions are done by this method, even though study after study has revealed the dangers of this procedure.

Over 1 in 10 women are experiencing the need for additional medical care, yet pro-abortion extremists are pushing that every safeguard for these mothers be eliminated. Here are just a few common-sense protections that have been eliminated: in-person consultation with a doctor, an ultrasound to verify gestational age, and to ensure it is not an ectopic pregnancy.

For a complete breakdown of the number of abortions by residence county in NW Ohio, view the graphic at the bottom of this article.

So, what can you and I do to help save preborn babies' lives and help moms seeking an abortion to solve her unintended pregnancy?

  • Pray – sign up to pray for an hour during the 40 Days for Life fall campaign now through November 2nd.

  • Organize – your church, small group, or Bible study group to adopt a day during the 40 Days for Life fall campaign.

  • Volunteer – to become a sidewalk advocate, contact Bob at bschoen737@aol.com or Joan at stowellclan@gmail.com. They will provide hands-on training to become a payer warrior and/or advocate.

Our prayerful presence makes a difference! Helping one abortion-minded mom saves lives and changes history.
